Orchids

This year I have been studying orchids.

These I bought at Lowe's.

My orchids have been so pretty this summer. This pink one had many blooms. The last two to come out are still looking pretty.

 The butter cream and whites bloom from stems in the same pot. Both plants have put on new leaves.

The pink one I got on Mother's Day in 2009 from Rachel. It bloomed again this spring. I cut back the stem after the blossoms dropped and watered the roots very little during the winter. In the spring I began watering with 3 ice cubes a week and soon it put on a fresh stem of buds. It bloomed all summer.
